LATHROP, Mo. - The Missouri Highway Patrol say an accident four miles west of Lathrop on 116 Highway killed a man.
The Patrol says 43-year-old John Pollock of Byrne's Mill, Mo., was westbound in a utility truck at 5:25 a.m. Monday when he crossed the center line, striking the side of a tractor trailer driven by 44-year-old Benjamin Reed of Kansas City.
Reed lost control of the tractor trailer, which then and traveled off the side of the road, overturning several times and ejecting Reed, who was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Pollock suffered no injuries.
